After a long, gloomy January, sports fans have a lot to look forward to in February 2025. Whatever your betting interests, February is bound to have big-time events of interest.

From the finale of the NFL season to an international cricket competition, February is a month with considerable sporting overlap between sports traditionally played in the summer and winter.

For instance, MLB spring training begins, while the NBA and NHL enjoy their midseason breaks for All-Star festivities.

Here are our five can’t-miss events in February with the Alpine World Ski Championships, European Track Cycling Championships, and South Asian Games narrowly missing the cut.

Super Bowl

An entire season of NFL betting builds towards the Super Bowl. One of the most watched sporting events on the calendar, the Big Game in 2025 is taking place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

An enthralling first few rounds of the playoffs, featuring a remarkable rookie performance from Jayden Daniels, have led us to the Super Bowl in Louisiana.

It’s a record eighth time the Superdome has hosted the Big Game, and the 11th time New Orleans has had the honour.

Six Nations

The first three rounds of the 2025 Six Nations take place during February 2025.

Champions in each of the last two years, Ireland are aiming to become the first team since the 1980s to win three titles in a row (although two of France’s threepeat were shared).

Coming off the Wooden Spoon in 2024, Wales are out at 66/1 to win the competition while Italy, who have 18 out of 25 Wooden Spoons in the Six Nations era, have the longest odds with Ireland and France vying for favourites status.

ICC Champions Trophy

Hosted in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates between 19th February and 9th March, the ICC Champions Trophy is the latest major tournament in a packed cricket schedule.

With recent T20 and 50-over World Cups fresh in the memory, this is a chance for England to kickstart their new white-ball era under Brendon McCullum.

The world’s top eight teams compete in two groups with the top two teams in each section going into the semi-finals.

The semis will be played on 4th and 5th March, with the final taking place in Lahore or Dubai (depending on if Indian make it) on 9th March.

This is the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy. India and Australia are the competition’s most successful teams with two titles apiece. Pakistan are the holders after beating India in the final eight years ago.

Daytona 500

Taking place on 16th February with a 19:30 start time in the UK, the Daytona 500 is one of the most-watched motorsport events in the world.

Denny Hamlin is the only driver to record back-to-back wins since 1995. The unpredictable nature of the race is reflected in the latest motorsport odds, with no drivers at a shorter price than 12/1.

Hamlin is among the contenders to win this year’s race. It would be his fourth win, which would put him joint-second in the all-time winners list behind Richard Petty.

William Byron, last year’s winner, shares the same odds as Hamlin as of 25th January 2025.

NBA All-Star Weekend

NBA All-Star Weekend takes place in San Francisco between 14th and 16th February while the trade deadline is on 6th February.

After an uninspiring All-Star Game in 2024, the NBA has revamped the format once again with the introduction of a four-team tournament.

Other events remain on the schedule, including the Dunk Contest and Three-Point Contest, which is bound to feature Steph Curry at his home arena.

Several stars could be on the move before the trade deadline, including Jimmy Butler, Zach LaVine, and Zion Williamson. Restrictions imposed by the latest CBA make this an unpredictable trade season, however.
